Rudy Duran, Tiger Woods' first childhood golf coach, and Ernie Vadersen, a well-known club designer and the founder of Snake Eyes Golf, are also involved in Accu-Length.  Duran, who is the company's official endorser and was Tiger's coach for more than six years, calls Accu-Length "a great idea; an extremely unique and important product."  Vadersen was contracted to designed many aspects of the Accu-Length clubs.

THE PRODUCT
Voted the "Best New Product" at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show and named in 2006 one of the top junior golf clubs by the prestigious Golf Digest "Hot List," the Accu-Length Expandable Pro Quality Junior Golf Club System is the first and only patented golf clubs designed to grow with your child.  Professional clubs are now an affordable option for the junior golfer because the AL system allows growing children to use the same equipment for up to five seasons.

THE PROBLEM
Teaching professionals and parents of junior golfers have been faced for many years with a major dilemma when purchasing equipment for their growing student or child: What is the correct equipment to give their 3-13 year old who is growing 2 1/2 to 3 inches per year?  Parents say their youngster needs equipment that fits properly and is high quality.  However, they can't afford to keep repurchasing clubs year after year to keep up with the child's growth.  Teaching professionals wonder how to deal with the quandary of having to recommend equipment that is too long for their students in order to maximize its use.  One season of playability just doesn't cut it.

For many years, solving the problem was like trying to ascertain whether the chicken or the egg came first.  But now, with Accu-Length, there's an all-in-one solution.  Its high-quality stainless steel heads and filament wound composite shafts solves a parents' quest for top-shelf equipment.  Meanwhile, the expandable club system takes the worry away from teaching professionals who are concerned about equipment that's too long for their students.  The clubs grow as the student grows.

HOW IT WORKS
Accu-Length custom fits junior golfers by using a unique, patented spacer technology that allows users to add length onto the club in coordination with the child's growth.  For every 2 to 2 1/2 inches of growth, an inch of shaft length, in the form of a spacer that locks into the shaft, should be added to the club.  By using a maximum of four spacers, each club is designed for up to five seasons of use.  Each club has a "lock" at the top of the shaft that guarantees that the grip will not rotate or unscrew during use.

SIZING THINGS UP
Accu-Length comes in four models, all for children of different heights.
  • The 500 Series (pink and purple), designed for the youngest players, is for children 36.5 to 46.5 inches tall and is sized and perfectly weighted for the beginning golfer.

  • The 1000 Series (pink and yellow) is sized perfectly for golfers 44 inches to 54 inches tall who are just learning the game.  By being properly weighted, golfers 5 to 7 years old will develop enthusiasm for the game.

  • The 2000 Series (red) is for golfers 50 to 60 inches tall and features a stiffer shaft with proper loft for maximum trajectory and loft.

  • The 3000 Series (gray) is for golfers 55 to 65 inches tall.  The 3000 has a strong resemblance to adult sets, but with more forgiveness for ease of use.
THE BASICS
Each Series' Starter Set comes with standard basic equipment to make the game enjoyable for youngsters: A 17 degree Fairway wood, 7-iron, pitching wedge, putter and custom golf bag.  All clubs come with a flexible composite shaft for loft and control.

Accu-Length products are made from highest-quality stainless steel for maximum durability.  This is compared to the zinc alloy used by other junior golf club makers, which scars and damages easily.  Simply put, Accu-Length lasts longer.
  • THE WOOD.  Accu-Length's fairway wood is properly weighted for junior golfers and has a high-quality grip that's sized perfectly for their usage.  The 24 degree wood in the 500 Series makes it easier to get the ball in the air for the younger players, while the 17 degree wood in the 1000, 2000 and 3000 Series ensures excellent playability.  All woods come with head covers.

  • THE 7-IRON.  Accu-Length's 7-iron is made for maximum loft and distance from either the fairway or the rough, and is a perfect club for learning to strike ball properly.  It comes in a 36 degree model in all four series.

  • THE PITCHING WEDGE.  Weighted and designed exclusively for the junior golfer, the pitching wedge is standard in the 1000, 2000 and 3000 Series and optional for the 500 Series.  The wedge is 56 degrees in the 1000 Series and 50 degrees in the 2000 and 3000 Series.

  • THE PUTTER.  Accu-Length makes the challenge of putting extremely easy for youngsters with its cavity-back model.  Heel-toe weighting that's superior to any other junior club on the market provides superior balance and helps square the clubface at contact.  The results become "Yahoos!" instead of "Yips."

  • THE GOLF BAG. Designed exclusively for junior golfers, Accu-Length's carry bags feature dual straps that make carrying enjoyable and easy.  The one-of-a-kind bag is highlighted by a riser system which ensure that Accu-Length's clubs fit into the bag as the clubs are lengthened.  Each bag is black with corresponding trim to its model: 500 Series (purple), 1000 Series (yellow), 2000 Series (red), and 3000 Series (gray).  Each bag comes with self-standing legs and a small pouch that holds all spacers and tools that come with each set.
THE EXTRAS
Each Accu-Length series comes with a Product Introduction CD-ROM that has all the information you need to get started with your golf clubs.  It includes assembly instructions, sizing information, a private junior golf lesson from Rudy Duran, Rudy's trivia and frequently-asked questions.  A sizing chart measures the child for proper custom-fitting.

As a child grows, parents can purchase spacers at their local golf retailer or online at www.acculength.com.  There are available in packs of four (4) one-inch spacers; two custom assembly tools; and four locking screws and retail for $9.99.

  • SS STAINLESS STEEL PUTTERS.  The SS stainless steel putters, the company's next generation of flat sticks, are available for all four series.  The mallet-style putter is very easy for juniors to use and putt accurately.

  • LEFT-HANDED SETS AND CLUBS.  Accu-Length solves the problem left-handed junior golfers have with finding clubs by introducing left-handed starter sets, as well as individual left-handed 14 degree drivers.

  • JUNIOR GOLF GLOVE.  The new Accu-Length junior golf glove is made from a combination of fine Cabretta leather and strategically-placed synthetics.  Juniors immediately receive the benefits of Hydrolyte Digitized micro fiber synthetic that enhances grip strength by up to 40 percent.  Microfiber spandex inserts at the knuckles and fingers customize the fit to the contours of the golfer's hand.  Longevity is enhanced by reinforced Cabretta leather that's placed at key areas.  Digitized palm material wraps around the index finger for added comfort when gripping the club.

The glove, which is white Cabretta leather, comes in three sizes (small, medium and large) and are color-coded to match Accu-Length's top selling sets AL1000 (yellow), AL2000 (red) and AL3000 (gray) sets.

  • PINK 500 AND PINK 1000 SERIES SETS.  Accu-Length introduces a new line of clubs specifically for girls, the Pink 500 Series and Pink 1000 Series Sets.  The Pink 1000 Series comes with a wood, a 36-degree 7-iron, a pitching wedge and a heel-toe weighted putter, while the Pink 500 Series comes with all but the iron.  All clubs are made from high-quality stainless steel for durability and quality.  The Pink 500 Series wood is 24 degrees to make it easier for younger players to get the ball into the air, while the Pink 1000 Series wood is 17 degrees for playability.

Both sets come with a dual-strapped carry bag that features a riser system that guarantees that the clubs will fit into the bag as the clubs are lengthened.  Each bag has self-standing legs as well.
